“Growing up in a second-generation Mexican-American community is what gives me a sense of identity and purpose within my two nationalities. As a Latina in sports, the sports industry needs to continue building a strong community in-and-outside the organization to better celebrate those of different communities and showcase our appreciation for our diverse identities. Celebrating the communities we’re in, and uplifting others are what help us cultivate a more well-rounded world.”

Nohely Galindo, Marketing Projects Manager, Dallas Mavericks

“Support is what Latinx In Sports means to me. There's going to be some people from our (cultural) community in both this and other industries that will not want to lend a hand. Though there are MANY other people that are willing to offer help: Going over your CV, Finding a job, Connecting people, Being a reference, Or by simply checking in with a phone call. That's how my experience has been since joining Latinx In Sports.”

Salvador Mares, Senior Operations Coordinator, Chicago Fire FC

“Being in Latinx in Sports has been all sorts of amazing. I have gained a whole community of like-minded Latino/a’s who support and uplift each other without hesitation. When you reach out to someone within our Latinx sports network they are always eager to help you and make you feel welcomed which is what I love the most. Latinx in Sports has opened the doors for me in many ways, it has given me the best mentors, friends, and the opportunity to be in this network to help those that come after me. Latinx in sports es una FAMILIA that I am extremely grateful to be a part of."
